Presenting SPEKTIV™, an artists’ residency including lecture, workshops, and concert

by Joey Bargsten

(Dowload Performance Suggestions)

SPEKTIV™ attempts to gather together the highlights of a 30-year period in my creative output, including musical compositions, film and digital cinema, interactive media, improvisational theatre, and speculative art (overview here). This is a collection of material presented over the course of a three day residency, including a public lecture, a set of workshops/rehearsals, and classroom presentations. It culminates in a full evening concert of music, interactive theatre, and film (suggested performance here).

The residency aims to inform students, faculty, and your academic community of the major issues confronting contemporary artists working in digital media by presenting my own solutions to the problems of old vs. new media, genre, narrative, performance practice, and changing technologies. A compressed version of the program, a extended lecture/demonstration, is also available (see SPEKTIV™ LITE, below).
